Afternoon Tea - Our top picks for the Jubilee

Afternoon tea is a brilliantly British tradition. We put together a show stopping spread using some of our favourite products stocked here at Pilgrim Foodservice with British tradition in mind. All products shown below can be found on our website by clicking the links below.

Tartelettes

A perfect snack for afternoon tea, these mouth-watering treats feature a sweet shortcrust that melts in your mouth. Their small size makes them easy to eat, so you can have more than one! Fill these little tarts with your favourite fruit for the perfect summertime dessert. We filled ours with Rodda's Cornish Clotted Cream and topped with blueberries, kiwi and stawberry.

Scones

Quintessentially British and quintessentially delicious. These Lincolnshire scones are full of flavour and as fluffy as can be. No afternoon tea could be complete without them. We used both plain and sultana scones to keep everyone happy. Just don't go asking about jam before cream versus cream before jam! Speaking of jam and cream, we chose to use these brilliant small portions of Tiptree Raspberry Preserve and our Rodda's clotted cream.

Sandwiches

We have a massive range of sandwich fillings to choose from. We have picked out a selection of the most traditional sandwiches you would expect at an afternoon tea party whilst ensuring we have a good variety for guests to choose from. We made sure to include a vegan option with our cucumber and vegan cheese alternative from Violife. All products can be found listed below.

Pastries

Celebrate the jubilee with this selection of pastries, representing classic European flavors. Savor delicious croissants, sausage rolls and pain aux raisins. A great way to enjoy a morning coffee or tea!

Sweet Treats

This selection of sweet treats is designed to tempt your taste buds, with a Caramel Latte Brownie, White Chocolate and Cranberry Tiffin and Macaroons to satisfy any sweet craving. All these products can be served as small hand sized portions and each one brings life and colour to your display. It's worth mentioning that the brownie here is also gluten free and vegan freindly (though you would never know from tasting it!).

Crisps

What sort of afternoon tea doesn't include some crisps to pick at? Some of the less sophisticated of us might even be tempted to make a crisp sandwich! We have a huge range of speciality crisps to pick from but we went with Pipers crisps here. The traditional style of packaging works great with any display and they also happen to be a proud British supplier of ours.
