    Financial Controller

    Hours of Work: 40 hours per week
    Days of Work: Monday to Friday
    Term: Permanent

    As a Financial Controller, you will be responsible for managing the finance team in completing all the daily, weekly and monthly financial/management accounting activities. Strategic controller which will impact decision making, forecasting, and budgeting of the company. Assist in driving the overall performance of Pilgrim forward and support all areas of the business to gain access to information which assists in correct decision making to achieve this goal

    Responsibilities will include:

    • Managing, mentoring, developing, and motivating the accounts team
    • Oversee the month end accounts along with accompanying schedules, reconciliations, journal entries and accruals/prepayments as appropriate
    • Oversee treasury management, including weekly cashflow forecasts, bank reconciliation, payment run processing
    • Supporting the reporting on a daily, weekly and monthly basis on KPI information, appropriate trend and variance analysis
    • Audit work all completed with supporting files to enable a smooth annual audit
    • General ledger data management and ensure the completion of the bank and balance sheet reconciliations
    • Providing support and guidance with costing models and budgeting processes
    • Contributing to company financial strategy and decision making processes
    • Working with the Senior Management team to ensure robust financial systems and processes are in place
    • Working with the Senior Management team on development, implementation of a future business intelligence solution
    • Developing and maintaining forecasting models (P&L, B/S and CF)
    • Management of capital assets and capex proposals
    • Ensuring accurate records and systems for tax compliance
    • Actively participate in any ad-hoc finance project work streams as required
    • Leading and assisting with projects as identified and defined for the benefit of the business
    • Deputising for the Finance Director as and when required
    • Providing cover to finance team as and when required
    • Company Insurance / contract support
    • Banking approval / planning

    The successful candidate will have:

    • ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified and has experience of working in high growth SME’s
    • A diligent, problem solving and proactive attitude – prepared to be in the details of the accounts as well as having a more strategic view
    • Experience of developing systems to improve reporting requirements
    • Strong analytical, presentation and Excel skills
    • Excellent communication and management skills
    • A pragmatic, self-motivated and proactive mindset
    • Trustworthy, confidential, and reliable
