    International Women's Day Hero's

Happy International Women's day! A perfect excuse to celebrate some of our favourite inspirational women.

Kim Stark – longest serving Woman at Pilgrim Foodservice

Kim Stark works in our Commercial Support team. She is the longest serving Woman here at Pilgrim Foodservice and has worked here for an amazing 20 years! We couldn't be without her and are so grateful for all of her hard work and her positive attitude. We asked her a few questions; here is what she has to say:

What is your biggest achievement in life?

Definitely becoming a mummy, not always easy (as my husband works away for over 6 months of the year, several weeks at a time) but it is the most rewarding thing ever, so proud of how well our little girl is coming along.

Which woman/women inspire you the most?

My mum and my late nanna – now being a mum I see myself trying to instill the same good practices in my little girl as I had instilled in me. I also want her to have and continue to make some fantastic memories with her nanna as I have left behind by having made so many with mine. I cannot wait to be able to teach her how to cook too, which is something that has been passed down by both my nanna and my mum.

What’s your biggest achievement working at Pilgrim Foodservice?

Developing the Commercial Support department over the years, also being involved in some of the larger projects that came along and needed adapting, learning from scratch, testing and then training the team on the new processes and systems. I have been told that I am very much a go-to person if someone needs to know how to do something, how a process works or general business knowledge.

Christine Corrigan owner of the Willow Cafe

Christine Corrigan from the Willow Cafe

Our amazing customer Christine, from the Willow Café and Restaurant has a lifetime of catering experience and had a long-held ambition to run a catering facility. We asked her a few questions; here is what she has to say:

Which woman/women inspire you the most?

Grace O’Malley the famous pirate queen who strongly defended the west coast of Ireland from the sea going agressors.

What is your biggest achievement in life?

Having, raising and maintaining a wonderful relationship with my now grown-up Daughter and Son.

How do you influence your colleagues around you and the wider business?

Through good communication, honesty, encouragement and ensuring everyone is made to feel part of the team.

Happy International Women's day to all strong women! May we know them, may we be them, may we raise them!
