    National Fish & Chips Day!

British Fish and Chip Day is an annual event celebrated on the first Friday in June, dedicated to the nation's most beloved dish. Fish and chips have been a popular British meal for over a century, and the dish has become a cultural icon, deeply rooted in the country's history and traditions. The dish is made up of battered fish, usually cod or haddock or this year we’ve chosen scampi, and thick-cut chips, served with salt and vinegar, ketchup, or tartar sauce.

On this special day, people across the UK celebrate by enjoying a traditional fish and chip meal out. It is also an opportunity to raise awareness of the importance of supporting local businesses and the impact it has on the local economy.

In recent years, there has been a growing trend towards supporting local businesses, particularly in the food industry. By choosing to buy from local establishments, we are supporting small, independent businesses and helping to keep the tradition of British fish and chips alive.

The benefits of supporting local businesses go beyond just the economic and environmental impacts. It also helps to build stronger communities and promotes a sense of pride in local traditions and culture.
