    P.T. Thorold's Fresh Brussels Sprouts

In a sector that can be overpowered by large-scale businesses, P.T Thorold's 3,000-acre farm in Gosberton, Lincolnshire stands out as a local, family-run business, specialising in brassicas such as Brussels sprouts and cabbages.

Founded in the 1940s by Cecil and Jean Thorold, P.T. Thorold’s started out from just an 18-acre County Council smallholding and flourished into the thriving family business it is today.

The farm now boasts an impressive variety of crops, including 365 hectares of broccoli, 280 hectares of cauliflower, and between 100 and 125 hectares of Brussels sprouts. In addition to this great range, P.T. Thorold's is recognised as one of the country's leading independent growers of pointed cabbage.

To meet their sustainability goals, P.T. Thorold's use Integrated Farm Management systems to help guide the farm's activities, making them as efficient as possible. As part of their sustainability initiative, P.T. Thorold's have planted hundreds of acres of nectar-rich crops, perfect for bees as well as planting 800 meters of new hedges and introducing owl boxes, increasing the local biodiverity.

We love getting to work with local businesses and it doesn't get much more local than this! P.T. Thorold's is just down the road from our Boston base, ensuring great freshness and minimal transport times.
