    Technical Manager

    Hours of Work: 40 hours per week, from £27,000 p/a
    Days of Work: Monday to Friday
    Term: Permanent

    As a Technical Manager you will be responsible for ensuring appropriate controls and processes are in place to deliver technical requirements for customers, food safety, and ethical & legal requirements. You must maintain a pool of internal auditors and implement regular robust incident management processes and ensure corrective actions are implemented. You are responsible for Food Safety Management to ensure product quality standards are understood, met, and communicated. You must effectively manage QMS ensuring documentation is in place reflecting business operations and is regularly reviewed. Responsible for building relationships with partner organisations and implement activities designed to have a positive impact on the environment and the local community, working in conjunction with Marketing Department to ensure awareness of our commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility.

    Responsibilities will include:

    • Improve customer relations by ensuring effective and timely communication with regard to food safety requirements.
    • Manage HACCP process to ensure base standards are in place and adhered to in order to meet food safety, legal and quality requirements.
    • Implement and manage a robust customer complaint and product NCR system.
    • Ensure product specifications are in place and teams are trained to review delivery quality against agreed specifications.
    • Active HACCP Team Leader (Deputy – Site Services & Compliance Manager)
    • Ensure NPD own brand HACCP requirements are written and recorded.
    • Provide technical expertise to improve own brand NPD and manufacturing processes.
    • Write, implement, and manage Microbiological & Chemistry Management System ensuring food safety requirements are adhered to.
    • Ensure all relevant lab testing is carried out in a clearly defined timeframe.
    • Manage all internal and external audits ensuring the business is audit ready.
    • Create audit ready plans and promote best practice.
    • Identify gaps in technical knowledge or process and actively work to train team members.
    • Ensure KPI's are reviewed and delivered within agreed targets.
    • Active team member of Health & Safety Committee.

    The successful candidate will have:

    • Demonstrate comprehensive understanding of legal, ethical and technical process requirements to ensure food safety, environmental standards, legality and customer requirements are met
