Over the last 40 years, we’ve built our reputation on quality, reliability and building relationships that last, working closely with chefs, producers and suppliers to deliver more than just great ingredients.

We bring ideas, expertise and energy to every partnership, because we believe great food businesses deserve great support. From our in-house expert butchery to locally-sourced fresh produce, bespoke menu planning and product development, we’re here to deliver the difference.

An Independent Family Business

Founded in 1979 by Peter Bateman, we are still run by the Bateman family today. This independence means we answer to our customers, not shareholders or corporate investors.

It also means we understand the pressures of running a food business first-hand, and this shapes how we operate – in sourcing, service, delivery and in our commitment to building relationships that last.

Our range stretches to over 4,000 carefully selected lines, from outstanding meat from our in-house butchery to freshly prepared produce and frozen foods. 

Everything is chosen for quality, consistency and flavour. If we wouldn’t serve it, we won’t deliver it.

Our supply chain is designed to be reliable and flexible. We cover 15 counties across Eastern England and into London – with chilled, frozen and ambient goods delivered in one efficient drop.

Technology helps us track and deliver quickly, but it’s our people who really deliver the difference. Our drivers get to know you and your premises. Our warehouse team learns your preferences. Our account managers begin with your schedule, not the other way around.
