We’re delighted to share that Pilgrim Foodservice has won the Commitment to People award at the Lincolnshire Business Awards 2026!
As a family-run business, we have always believed that how we support our team is just as important as the products and service we deliver to our customers, so to have that recognised is something we are incredibly proud of.
Pilgrim Foodservice has grown quickly over the years, but through it all, we have stayed true to what matters most: our people and our culture. For us, it’s about creating a place where people want to be, where they feel valued for their work and part of the wider business.
We know that looking after our team means different things to different people, and that starts from the moment someone joins us. We put real care into helping new starters settle in, making sure they feel comfortable, connected and able to ask questions from the beginning.
As people grow with us, we want them to feel there is room to keep moving forward. Whether someone is joining us fresh out of school or brings decades of experience, that might mean finding a mentor, developing new skills, building confidence in their role or exploring a different path within the business. Just as importantly, we want people to feel recognised along the way, whether that’s for the small, everyday wins or the bigger milestones over time. Long service is something we are especially proud to celebrate, because it reflects the kind of environment we have built over the years.
We also recognise that people need different things at different stages of life and work. For some, that reassurance comes through enhanced benefits such as parental leave, sick pay, staff discounts, free refreshments and hampers at Christmas. For others, it comes from feeling listened to, appreciated and able to speak openly.
Wellbeing is an important part of that too. We know everyone has a life outside work, and we want people to know there is help available when they need it. Through supportive managers, regular check-ins and access to help from GroceryAid when needed, we continue to make sure our team has somewhere to turn.
This award is an important achievement for us, and one we are proud to celebrate. More than anything, it recognises the work that goes on every day to make Pilgrim a great place to work, and for the people who help shape that culture.
